YHA Gold Anchor Award

We were assessed late in 2011 and were once again awarded the Yacht Harbour Association Gold Anchor award for high standard of service and quality assured berthing. I was invited to the London Boat show in January to be presented with the award by Julian Goldie, Director of YHA.

New workshop!

We received good news last week that planning permission has been granted for the new workshop that will also house our engineering team and a larger, fully stocked chandlery. Henry is currently in the process of fabricating the steel framework and the groundworks will begin in April.

Clean marina award!

We are pleased to announce that we have been awarded the ICOMIA award as part of their Clean Marinas programme. We continue to keep our facilities to a high standard and are pleased to have been recognised for this award.

Destination: Woodbridge!

We have had a record number of visitors to the marina this year including several flotillas from various European countries. Many came from the Netherlands and Belgium, for whom it was Destination: Woodbridge! With so much to see and do in Woodbridge and the surrounding area it is no wonder we saw our visitors staying for longer periods of time and hope to welcome them back again next year.

Mark has had a busy year painting, varnishing, applying gel coat and installing bow thrusters and Steve has been non stop with electrical installations and repairs. On the engineering side, Stuart and Henry have overhauled a number of engines and we are pleased to report that we have three new engine installations to be completed this winter in preparation for the new season. I would like to thank the team for their continued support and hard work, without them it would not be possible. Thanks, Richard.

Dredging

Mike is in the process of dredging the South Arm as we speak and we hope to have this mammoth task completed by early March 2012.

First Aid

Tidemill takes on a new Apprentice!

We are pleased to announce that we have a new member of the team, Henry Kember joins us as an apprentice Engineer. Currently studying Engineering at West Suffolk College, Henry is being trained in all aspects of engineering work including fabrication and welding and is a valued part of the team.

I am very pleased to announce that Steve Ward recently passed his National Marine Electronics Association exams and is now a qualified Marine Electronics Installer! Whether you have a navigation system that needs looking at, instruments playing up or new radio equipment that needs installing – Steve is your man!

I can report an excellent first year from Propspeed UK, we have secured over 100 Approved Applicators across the UK and Ireland and in the coming months hope to see that number rise.
